Elan 26R S1 and S2 period: 1964 engine: Cosworth Mk 15 Twin Cam, 140- 160 bhp # made: 97 The factory-built 26R incorporated chassis and suspension modifications, but also included a 1/3 thinner, lightweight body and the replacement of several cast iron parts with magnesium ones in an effort to reduce overall weight.
