Mid-engined coupe

The first 3 years cars were made for export only. Chapman did not want to introduce the car on the home market in case it hit sales of the Elans. The first 500 were scheduled for France (Renault connection).

The first U.S. versions were fitted with longer front coil springs to put the headlamps at the right hight and meat bumper height regulations. Later there was a slightly higher front wing line that was so neatly done that is was difficult to spot the difference.
