A model that was announced for 2010and released in January 2012. This is the Lotus Type 79 that Jean-Pierre Jarier drove in the 1978 Canadian GP. This was Jarnier's second race for Lotus that year, after he was drafted in to fill the seat that Ronnie Peterson left following his fatal accident.

A very rare car. During the free practice for the 1980 Brazil Grand Prix, Mario Andretti started with a Lotus Type 79 with the special typenumber 79X. It was painted in the colours of the new sponsor Essex and compared with the Lotus Type 79 from 1979, this car had a new rear wing attached in the middle and exhausts were brought out from the body. This car was only used on this occasion.
