Lotus Racing has today confirmed that third driver Fairuz Fauzy will
be back in the T127 hot seat at Hockenheim for FP1 at this weekend’s
German Grand Prix.
Fairuz had already been confirmed to drive in FP1 at the British,
Hungarian, Singapore and Abu Dhabi races, but, after mechanical
issues cut short his run at Silverstone, the team has decided to
bring forward his Hungary run to Germany. This gives him the chance
to bring another valuable perspective to the team’s on-track
development as soon as possible, and on a track that should suit the
Lotus Racing T127.
Lotus Racing Team Principal Tony Fernandes commented: “It’s an
exciting day for all of us in the Lotus Racing team – being able to
tell Fairuz he has another Friday run a week before he thought he’d
be back in the car is a great way to start the week, and we all know
he’ll deliver for us, both on track and in the feedback he’ll
provide the team. He’s an inspiration to young drivers around the
world, proving that being determined to make your dreams come true
can make very exciting things happen!”
